ENGworks Global Transition Announcement
ENGworks Global Transition Announcement With over 30 years in the industry, ENGworks has been characterized as adaptable to different circumstances, and this past year has presented us with new opportunities of growth and evolution once again. ENGworks is now ENGworks Global. Where We Have Been In 1989, Chris DiIorio started the consulting business as SimplyCAD, from a dorm room at the University of Illinois Chicago, to bring much needed technology solutions to the AEC/O industry. In 2002, we changed the company name to CADworks in an effort to rebrand and add additional layers to the services we provided. In 2005, the modeling and coordination industry was emerging in California, so CADworks established a presence there. We became the first U.S. based BIM service company to use CADmep in 2008 and have since completed tens of millions of dollars of fabrication work. In 2007 we were certified as a Premier Provider for Autodesk Seek to support the creation of high-quality Autodesk Revit MEP content for Building Product Manufacturers, a service that still represents a significant portion of our business portfolio. As the AEC industry was coming out of the global recession in 2012, CADworks and ENGstudios agreed to bring our respective businesses together under a new banner, ENGworks. In 2014, ENGworks, Inc. and ENGstudios agreed to operate independently but continue to share the same brand identity, ENGworks. Like many companies, 2020 provided us a moment in time to reflect and refocus on our core business offerings. The driving force of the business in 1989 was to push technology into the AEC/O Industry, always striving to make it better, and to bring new and exciting productivity gains to the industry – and we continue to be driven by that passion today! Where We Are Going As a part of this change, ENGworks is undergoing a transition to reinforce our global services and meet client needs more effectively. Our client relationships have provided us an opportunity to offer revolutionary new services and explore new markets. To successfully cater to these new interests, we have decided to shift our company name from ENGworks to ENGworks Global. We now have global personnel and partners to perform in other regions with the same quality and standards we’ve established in Chicago, IL. We are proudly known as the largest MEP content builder in the world and considered the best-of-breed with Building Product Manufacturers. Nothing will change regarding the continuity of our services. Our clients will not recognize any difference, as it only means we have new emails and a domain but the same superior service. We’re incredibly proud of the work that we do at ENGworks Global and thankful for the employees, the partnerships, and the clients that have accompanied us in our growth. We look forward to continuing to support all of our clients and partners in this new journey forward. An Open Letter about ENGworks
An Open Letter about ENGworks It is important to understand that ENGworks is a brand shared by 2 separate and very different operating companies, one based solely in the U.S. and the other in U.S./Argentina. Each ‘franchise’ operates in it own way to bring unique skills and capabilities to their core market. Let me bring some historical context to how this all came about and hopefully illustrate the differences between the two franchises. In 1989, I started the business as SimplyCAD, from my dorm room at the University of Illinois Chicago, to bring much needed technology solutions to the AEC/O industry. In 2007 we were certified as a Premier Provider for Autodesk Seek to support the creation of high quality RevitMEP content for Building Product Manufacturers, a service that still represents a significant portion of our business. As the AEC industry was coming out of the global recession in 2012, I believed in the idea that creating a global presence would strengthen our reach to clients outside of the United States, so CADworks and ENGstudios (U.S./Argentina) agreed to bring our respective businesses together under a new banner, ENGworks. Both companies continued to serve their core markets but the vision of each franchise sharing resources across global projects was just too difficult to attain. In 2014, we agreed to operate independently but continue to share the same brand identity, ENGworks. As time has passed, I’ve become very much aware of the frustration experienced as a result of brand confusion and the lack of clarity as to which franchise is delivering on projects and in which entity carries certain specialized skills. To make this absolutely clear to the market going forward, I have renamed my entity ENGworks Global. The domain names of the two companies are now different, our teams are different, our credentials are different, and our names are different! ENGworksGlobal.com continues to be based in Chicago as it has been since I created it back in 1989. In our 30+ years as a thriving company, we have executed 100% of our U.S. work with highly skilled U.S. professionals. We now have global personnel and global partners to execute work in other regions with the same quality standards we’ve established in Chicago. We are proudly known as the largest MEP content builder in the world and considered the best-of-breed with Building Product Manufacturers around the world. The reason I started this business in 1989 was to push technology into the AEC/O Industry, always striving to make it better, and to bring new and exiting productivity gains to the industry – and we continue to be driven by that passion today! The eVolve MEP partnership is an exciting step forward as it combines our knowledge and experience to drive long overdue standards to encourage Manufacturers to invest in fabrication content and bring interoperability to users globally. If you have had a poor experience with ENGworks in the past or if you would like to have a conversation in order to better understand our business structure, I am very open to listening and explaining. Your feedback will help us to improve and communicate the unique skills and talents of each operating unit better, and ensure that there is clarity as to which ENGworks franchise has been involved in your particular experience. Announcement: AEC Content Veteran Leads ENGworks’ Global Partner Strategy
Announcement: AEC Content Veteran Leads ENGworks’ Global Partner Strategy CHICAGO (PRWEB) MAY 13, 2020 ENGworks, the internationally recognized leader in Building Information Modeling (BIM) services and solutions to the Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Owner Community (AECO) today announced, Mike Collins will join the executive team as VP of Global Business Development. ENGworks has been establishing strategic alliances with some key industry vendors in an effort to build a Global Content Network bent on establishing much needed standards and quality guidelines. Building Information Modeling (BIM) continues to impact the design to construction lifecycle with demands for a greater variety of content formats and richer product data. “We see a need to provide content solutions for the AEC/O community on a global level while supporting local project demands for languages, codes, and standards. This can only be accomplished through a network of providers with localization skills all working within a common framework of quality and consistency, said Chris Di Iorio, CEO of ENGworks.” BPMs as the owners of this much needed product data must adapt their digital marketing strategy to deliver higher quality BIM-ready content to serve the new tools and processes not just in design, but through to fabrication and construction. Mr. Collins brings over 25 years of experience in the AECO industry and is well connected to both the needs of BPMs and the many platform and portal vendors who need product content to support the demanding workflows of their users. After an early career in project data and analytics at Construction Market Data, Collins built the industry’s first BIM content portal, BIMworld, which became the foundation for the Autodesk Seek content platform when acquired in 2008. Most recently he co-founded Global Product Data which helped BPMs get their product data to multiple AEC platforms. About ENGworks (Chicago) For three decades, ENGworks has been a technology leader continuously developing new processes and services to drive productivity for the AEC/O Community in their BIM and VDC workflows. The ENGworks mission is to help AEC/O professionals design and build better projects by reducing risks, saving cost, by combining cutting edge technology with their deep knowledge of the building lifecycle to create BIM technologies that impact construction productivity as well as building performance for Owners.
