UCF Academic Commons

The UCF Academic Commons also known as Dr. Phillips Academic Commons comprised a 150,000 square foot university building. Features four stories of active learning spaces, including classrooms, the downtown library, study and tutor spaces, a moot court, and academic offices. The building is a state-of-the-art learning facility that will overlook Creative Village’s central park, a green space for outdoor concerts and events.

ENGworks took over varied responsibilities like 3D modeling, coordination, clash detection, project management, and project administration. The Design-Assist approach along with using a live Navisworks model for BIM Coordination really helped the project accelerate towards completion with more efficiency. Additionally, ENGworks increased efficiency by adopting multiple weekly meetings with the subcontractors. This was a key breakthrough during periods of inefficiency due to a lack of BIM experience for some of the subcontractors.
